Overview
The Davis Center Collection, the Documentation Center on Contemporary Japan, and the Fairbank Center Collection collect books, periodicals, reference works, and special collections on Russia and Eurasia, postwar Japan, and China since 1949.
Special Collections
Davis Center Collection - Archival, photograph and other collections on Russian history, society.
Documentation Center on Contemporary Japan - Newspaper clipping files on contemporary Japan.
Fairbank Center Collection - Rare and unique materials on the Chinese Communist Party.
- Borrowing
Interlibrary loan (ILL) and circulation policies vary by collection. Please contact the staff of the particular collection for more details. In some cases special borrowing arrangements can be made for teaching and research purposes.
- Reference and Research
The librarians are available to answer reference questions, to assist with use of the collections, to provide in-depth research assistance and to offer library instruction sessions and other support for teaching.

Fung Library admits all individuals who hold a current Harvard ID or an HCL Special Borrower Card. The library also provides access to its stacks to students, faculty and researchers of other universities, colleges and research centers who present a current institutional ID, letter from their faculty, passport or other official form of ID. The Davis Center and Documentation Center on Contemporary Japan collections do not currently circulate. In the past, borrowing privileges have been extended to those with a current Harvard ID or a Harvard College Library Special Borrower's Card, which can be obtained at the Privileges Office. Materials in the Fairbank Center Collection do not circulate.

The Fung Library is accessible through the main entrance of the Knafel Building on Cambridge Street. Take the elevator one floor down to the concourse level for the library. Elevators and accessible bathrooms are located just outside the library entrance. Library staff will assist patrons with out-of-reach items.
