David Downs joins the Library as a senior project manager.
December 4, 2012—David Downs recently joined the Harvard Library as senior project manager. A member of the Harvard Library projects team led by Senior Program Manager Jim Borron, Downs will focus on IT initiatives and projects, as well as others that originate from the Office of the Senior Associate Provost for the Harvard Library.
Downs has worked as a project manager, media developer and release manager for companies providing enterprise software and systems such as CA Technologies, Oracle and Siebel Systems, Inc. He has also served as a regional director and teacher for Teach for America. Downs is a certified Project Management Professional, and he holds a BA from Williams College.
In his spare time, Downs practices rapper sword dancing, a folk dancing tradition that originated among miners in the Northeast of England. “This talent requires a great deal of mental alertness and physical stamina, traits that will serve David well here at Harvard. We are thrilled he has joined the team,” said Borron.
