Circulation Policy:

Books may be borrowed by BTI students and faculty from all BTI libraries, with the exception of St. John's Seminary, upon presentation of a school I.D. card. Check with your own library first to see if a BTI Borrowers card is issued by your school. If you are unable to travel to another BTI library to check out books in person, you may borrow them through the BTI Messenger Service by completing an interlibrary loan form available at the circulation or reference desk of your library. In most cases, books from another library can be delivered to your library by Messenger within three working days.

Books borrowed from other BTI libraries may be returned by Messenger Service by leaving the books at any BTI library circulation desk. Please check with the circulation staff to be certain that you have allowed sufficient time for materials to arrive by the due date. The Messenger service operates three times a week, not including weekends.

Fines for overdue and lost materials are charges according to the policy of the lending library. Failure to pay fines or to return recalled material will result in the loss of BTI borrowing privileges.

Holdings Description:

The collections of the Boston Theological Institute, consisting of over a million and a half in theology and cognate disciplines, constitute one of the richest theological library centers in the world. They sustain the rich history of the founding traditions of our various schools, and they provide access to the continuing discussion of religious faith in our own time.

The BTI maintains a list of serials (periodicals) holdings in each library which may be accessed through Harvard's HOLLIS catalog.
