| Access Information: | Access to the Poetry Room is available to the public, but materials may only circulate to individuals who possess a current Harvard ID.

| Circulation Policy: | The Poetry Room does not participate in an interlibrary loan program. The Poetry Room is open to all faculty, staff, students, alumni, and affiliates of Harvard University. Non-Harvard readers may have access to our collection but are required to sign into a guestbook at any one of the Lamont Library entrances. Everyone is required to allow bag/parcel inspection upon leaving the building. Library materials do not circulate to anyone not affiliated with Harvard University. No archival recordings or Blue Star materials circulate - these materials are examined in the Poetry Room by appointment and cannot leave the Poetry Room; requests for duplication require written permission by owner of copyright. |
| Holdings Description: | The recorded poetry archive of the Poetry Room includes
the recorded sound and video archive of poetry at Harvard University; the sound archive of the Academy of American Poets beginning 1985; the sound archive of the Aspen Writers' Conference; and commercially available and out-of-print
audio and video recordings of poetry. Both masters and working dubs are stored and made at the repository; patrons must use listening copies. A non-circulating special collection of rare and ephemeral poetry publications, the Blue Star collection, is also held by the Poetry Room, along with a circulating collection of poetry books, and a non-circulating collection of current issues of poetry journals. |

| Resources for Persons with Disabilities: | Access for persons with disabilities is through the main entrance off Quincy Street. An elevator and accessible restroom, and retrieval of materials upon request, are available. The Resource Center for Students with Disabilities is located on Level 1 of Lamont Library; contact the Office of Services for Students with Disabilities (496-8707) for information regarding resources.
