Access Information:Quad Library admits all individuals who hold a current Harvard ID or an HCL Special Borrower Card. The Special Borrower Card can be obtained at the Library Privileges Office in Widener during business hours, Monday–Friday, 9 am–4:45 pm.
Circulation Policy:Circulating collection. Borrowing privileges are extended to students, faculty, and staff of Harvard University and certain special borrowers authorized by the Library Privileges Desk in Widener Library. Reserves borrowing privileges are more restrictive.
Holdings Description:The Quad Library's open stack collection includes approximately 12,000 high use volumes of scholarly works, selected reference materials, and some current periodicals. The Quad Library also has on reserve all Sourcebooks for the Core Curriculum and the most heavily used reserve course readings from previous semesters. Reserves readings in digital format can be accessed online either at the computer workstations in the library or remotely.
Resources for Persons with Disabilities:The library is accessible through the Campus Drive entrance across from Cabot House. An elevator and an accessible restroom and telephone are available. Transportation for students with disabilities requiring door-to-door adaptive transportation may be arranged with Shuttle Van Service at 617-495-0400. Directions:The Quad Library is located on the first floor of the Hilles Building at the corner of Garden and Shepard Streets, at the edge of the Radcliffe Quadrangle, approximately seven blocks north of Harvard Square. Enter the building through the Campus Drive entrance across from Cabot House. The Harvard shuttle bus provides service between the Quad Library and the Harvard University Science Center.
