Le Spectre de la Rose Gladys, Countess de Grey, later the Marchioness of Ripon, was one of Diaghilev’s earliest and most loyal patrons. She was so taken by Karsavina and Nijinsky in particular that she had a stage constructed at her house where they performed together Le Spectre de la Rose before her invited audiences. |
