Portrait by David Morris of Vaslav Nijinsky as the Slave in Le Pavillon d’Armide

The British artist David Morris made this portrait at the time of the second London season of the Ballets Russes in 1912. Three of the most famous Nijinsky’s roles were the roles of slaves, as in Le Pavillon d’Armide, Cléopâtre, and Schéhérazade.
