About Harvard Direct

Harvard Direct is a service for Harvard University students, faculty, and staff with library borrowing privileges to request books from participating libraries in HOLLIS+ and HOLLIS Classic to be delivered to the Harvard Library of their choice for pickup.


 

How to place a request

All Harvard Direct requests must be placed through the HOLLIS+ or HOLLIS Classic record. If an item is eligible, the "Request Item" link will appear in the availability screen for that item. When you request an item you can select a library to pick up the item.

 

 

Response Time

1-4 business days.


 

What can be requested?

Regular circulating books from the following libraries:

What can't be requested?

Non-circulating, reserves, media, maps, journals.


 

Notification

A notice is sent to your email account.
