Many library buildings close; materials remain accessible to Harvard community

Key Facts

Many Harvard library buildings are closed as of March 14, including all FAS library locations

Pick-up for books and other materials is available at Lamont Library’s main entrance during their posted hours

Circulating collections from all FAS libraries, except Wolbach Library, are still requestable

Dear Harvard Library colleagues,

As I shared this morning, we are updating our library access policies and protocol effective this evening. You can find updated information on our website.

As of 5pm today, until further notice:

Limited Physical and Resource Access for Harvard University ID (HUID) holders:

  • All FAS library locations are closed.
  • Pick up books: If you need to pick up books or other materials requested through HOLLIS, you will be able to do so at Lamont Library’s main entrance during their posted hours. When you make the request in HOLLIS, choose Lamont Pick Up (even if the location is Lamont). Circulating collections from all FAS libraries (including materials at Harvard Depository), except Wolbach Library, will be requestable.
  • Please consult professional school library websites for their hours and access policies.
  • Access cards for new Harvard Library users are not being issued.

Thank you, again, for your understanding, cooperation, and true innovation as this continues to evolve.

Sincerely,

Martha
