Support the Library

Your support of the Harvard Library today is an investment in the world’s knowledge tomorrow

Your contribution makes all the difference

Your Support At Work

Professor Steven Rogers

Partnering with faculty

Thanks to your support our librarians can collaborate with professors in dedicated class sessions where they directly assist students with their coursework — sharing the rich resources in our collections and teaching invaluable research skills.

"We don't want students working off intuition. We want them working off of facts....The best place to go is the library." -Professor Steven Rogers, Harvard Business School

Houghton blueprint

A new vision for Houghton Library

Thanks to the generosity of donors, especially philanthropist Peter J. Solomon ’60, MBA ’63, renovations on Houghton Library will begin fall 2019.

Houghton Library will modernize its research and teaching facilities, expand its exhibition galleries, improve physical access to its spaces and holdings, and create a more welcoming, inviting, and accessible environment.

Digitizing materials for the world

Harvard’s knowledge is the world’s knowledge, and our staff carefully ensure Harvard materials continue to be accessible for teachers and scholars across the globe. Through your support we have digitized over a million materials for online access.

These efforts have not only preserved Harvard resources for future generations, but are also aligned with the increasing prevalence of digital scholarship work.

Ways to Give

As a leading cultural heritage institution, we preserve our collections and past for future generations of scholars both at Harvard and across the globe to use and learn from. Harvard Library is the critical underpinning of this work and supports the accomplishments of today's thought leaders. We invite you to support our scholars, digitization efforts, and preservation work that we share with the world as well as our efforts in increasing equitable accessibility, which is seen in the new vision for Houghton Library.
