New Interface for Harvard’s Records Schedules Is Now Live

Harvard University Archives and Records Management Services (RMS), with support from an ITCRB grant, have launched a new interface for accessing Harvard’s records schedules.

Users will enjoy enhanced navigation and search capacity for the General Records Schedule (GRS), which contains Harvard’s policies for managing common types of University records. After logging in using HarvardKey, Harvard administrators, faculty, and staff will now be able to “favorite” schedules for quick navigation to the most relevant guidance. Future enhancements to the interface will provide customized access to any office-specific schedules relevant to your work, providing a single point of entry for all relevant records schedules. Check out the new site at grs.harvard.edu and create your account today.

Training on the new interface is available through the Harvard Training Portal. This 20-minute self-paced course explains how to access and navigate the interface and introduces employees to their records stewardship and retention responsibilities.

Through June, RMS is also offering weekly sessions over Zoom to introduce the new interface and answer user questions. Registration is also now live for RMS’ summer series of records management workshops (Zoom-only). To learn more, register for trainings, and get help, visit Records Management Services.
