There is a southern African phrase, ubuntu, which translates to “I am because we are.” It points to the fact that all of our humanity is interconnected, and our communities shape who we are.  This collection brings together the books that shaped collector Ruva Chigwedere.

She writes, "When I share a book, I think of it as sharing a part of myself, and I take seriously the idea that once someone has read a book that I love dearly, they will understand then a piece of my soul also."
