Adriana Gallegos is a higher education professional with over fifteen of experience working in administration and program management roles at Harvard University. In her current role as Associate Director of Administrative Operations for the Harvard Library, she oversees the administrative and operations policies and procedures for Harvard Library and Harvard College Library. In this role, Adriana manages a team of administrators that supports the senior management team and provide administrative coordination for all of their day-to-day activities.
In her previous role as Department Administrator for FAS Human Resources, Adriana managed the department multi-million budget, payroll functions, and day-to-day administrative operations. She also facilitated the development, implementation, and dissemination of the department communications in support of the programs and policies, and managed a team of HR Coordinators. Prior to joining FAS HR, Adriana worked as Program Administrator for the FAS Center for Systems Biology, where she led the organization of the annual Systems Biology conference, the research undergraduate internship and oversaw the administrative aspects of the Bauer Fellows program (now John Harvard Distinguished Science Fellows (JHDSF) Program), while acting as a liaison to local and national administrative and scientific communities to promote interdisciplinary research and diversity in research.
Adriana obtained a B.S. in Industrial Engineering from the Monterrey Institute of Technology and Higher Education (ITESM), and a Masters of Liberal Arts in Management from Harvard University Extension School. She was selected to the 2013-14 class of the Harvard University Administrative Fellowship Program, a leadership development fellowship for high-potential academic administrators of color. She currently serves as Co-Chair for the Association of Harvard LatinX Faculty and Staff (AHLFS). More recently, Adriana was part of the FAS Taskforce of Visual Culture and participated in the Harvard College Library Taskforce for Inclusive Spaces.
