We're marking the annual, international celebration of Open Access Week. Join us October 19 through October 25 as we celebrate the collective progress we've made and explore this year’s theme: “The Cost of Knowledge.”
Led by Harvard Library's Open Scholarship and Research Data Services (OSRDS), along with colleagues from across the University, we'll host events and share resources that inform and connect our efforts and ask what more we can do to encourage and support a more open, sustainable scholarly landscape.

No Fees? No Problem: Advancing Diamond Open Access

While some forms of open access remove paywalls from readers just to place them in front of authors, no-fee, or diamond, open access does away with paywalls altogether. Scholars can read groundbreaking research free of charge, and authors can contribute to the conversation unfettered by fees.
Join Denis Bourget of Peer Community In (PCI) and Melissa Seelye of the Lyrasis Open Access Community Investment Program (OACIP) as they share how their diamond open access initiatives are breaking down barriers and creating new ways to support scholarly research.
OACIP provides a community-driven framework that enables the evaluation and collective funding of diamond open access journals. PCI offers thematic platforms to review preprints, as well as the multidisciplinary, indexed, and diamond open access Peer Community Journal, where validated preprints can be published without author-side fees.
