Download the Libby by Overdrive app to borrow ebooks and audiobooks from Harvard Library's Farnsworth collection, which includes popular fiction, fantasy, self-help, graphic novels, and more.
Getting Started
- Download Libby from your phone or tablet's app store.
- Open Libby, and tap the menu button (three horizontal lines at the bottom of the screen).
- Click Add Library and search for Harvard University.
- When prompted, sign in via HarvardKey.
This collection is available to Harvard students, faculty, and staff.

Finding and Downloading Books
- To search for a specific title, click the magnifying glass icon.
- To browse the collection, click the building icon.
- Once you've found the book you'd like, click borrow to download it to your device. Loans last 14 days.
- You can borrow up to three books at a time and place up to five books on hold.
- If you'd prefer to read on your desktop, visit https://libbyapp.com/library/harvardu
As a Harvard affiliate based in Massachusetts, you are eligible to use the OverDrive collections of Boston Public Library and the MinuteMan Network via Cambridge Public Library. Sign up for a digital library card, and then add those cards in Libby to expand the number of titles you can borrow.
