Bruce Boucek started at Harvard's Graduate School of Design in November of 2019 as GIS, Data and Research Librarian. Bruce is a professional urban geographer by training and temperament and provides expertise in spatial information science, data analysis, and cartographic production. He has a life-long passion for maps and the visual presentation of information.
Prior to coming to the GSD and Harvard, Bruce was the Social Sciences Data Librarian at Brown University for 7.5 years. Prior to that he worked in both the non-profit and academic research environments providing expertise in geographic information systems, data analysis and reporting, and cartographic production.
Bruce received his undergraduate and MA degrees in Geography and Urban Studies from Temple University, in Philadelphia, PA. He also has a Certificate of Candidacy (all-but-dissertation status) from the Department of Geography at Indiana University, in Bloomington, IN.
