This exhibition was curated by members of the class “Classical Antiquity and the Legacy of Slavery at Harvard,” a Spring 2024 research seminar in Ancient Studies. Making extensive use of Harvard’s archives and collections, the course examined the historical ties between the study of classical antiquity, its evolving history and politics in the Harvard curriculum, and its connection to Harvard and slavery.
This exhibition was guest curated by Jared M. Hudson, Associate Professor of Classics; Irene Peirano Garrison, Pope Professor of the Latin Language and Literature; and their students: Rupert Chen, Mac Mertens, Diontay Wolfries-Thomas, and Kevin Wong.
