Ramon Cartwright
I manage the exhibition and loans program for the Faculty of Arts and Sciences (FAS) Libraries and Harvard Library departments. In this role, I oversee exhibition spaces in Widener, Houghton, and Pusey Libraries. I collaborate closely with curators and collections staff, as well as colleagues in preservation, design, and communications, to share a vibrant, multi-institutional exhibition program with the public. As registrar, I am the primary coordinator for all incoming and outgoing loans, bringing together best practices with thoughtful project oversight in a complex academic environment.
I have been part of the Harvard Library community since 2016. Before stepping into my current position, I served as Circulation and Collections Coordinator in Public Services for Archives and Special Collections, where I played a central role in circulation services, oversaw stack operations, managed the student employment program, and helped strengthen the integration of services between Houghton Library and the Harvard University Archives.
Prior to joining Harvard, I worked with exhibition teams at the San Jose Museum of Art and at the Rhode Island School of Design’s Gelman Student Exhibitions Gallery and Woods-Gerry Gallery, and I supported curatorial research and circulation at the RISD Museum’s Minskoff Center for Prints, Drawings and Photographs. These experiences continue to inform my commitment to creating welcoming, engaging exhibitions that connect a wide range of audiences with collections.
